BUTLER ROBOTS
An enclosed robot with security features is an effective alternative to a worker carrying a tray around the facility. Butler robots provide contactless, hygienic room service. With up to four adjustable compartments, each accessible independently, they can serve multiple rooms in a single trip. These robots can notify guests that their delivery has arrived. Security systems protect both privacy and the chain of custody.
DINING ROBOTS
Dining robots assist the waitstaff by transporting food from the kitchen to the tables. Waiters remove the plates from the robot’s trays and serve the food to the guests. This allows the servers to be more attentive to their guests’ needs. They can recommend the right wine, describe the most appropriate dishes, quickly re-order drinks and offer desert choices. Robots make service faster and more enjoyable, reduce waste, increase efficiency and elevate the guest experience.
Robots do all the heavy lifting, ensure freshness and enhance safety because waiters aren’t juggling heavy trays. Robots will be even more effective if they are used to return the dirty plates and tableware directly to the dishwashing area.
Features vary with each model. Ships that cater to families with children may want a robot with head accessories and facial expressions. Other features may include touch controls, tray detection, tray lights, on-screen guidance and voice prompts. Some models will fit through doors and aisles as narrow as 16 inches.
CLEANING ROBOTS
Cleaning robots are most effective in long hallways, common areas and lobbies. Restaurants may also be candidates for robotic cleaners. At this time, no models are suitable for cleaning guest rooms. Depending on the model, robots may perform up to four functions – vacuuming carpets, scrubbing floors, dust mopping and sweeping. If there is an accidental spill, some models can be used manually, enabling quick cleanup. Wet floor signs can be reduced or eliminated. The risks from slips and falls are reduced.

HOUSEKEEPING ROBOTS
Housekeeping services need to move linens from the laundry to guest rooms. Whether it is sheets and pillowcases or blankets and bedspreads, heavy load robots with optional shelves or laundry baskets can traverse elevators and carry large loads to and from storerooms. With capacities of up to 650 pounds and speeds up to 200 feet per minute, they can make quick work of large projects.
GREETING ROBOTS
Some robots can function as greeters. They can respond to simple questions and converse in multiple languages. While they cannot replace the staff at the desk, they can alleviate some of the long lines that occur during peak periods. While training a robot to talk can be time-consuming, it has an excellent memory limited only by the capacity of its memory chips.
